I did a cover for my sewing machine and table with the wax print celebrating 2007" woman' s day". Wax- prints pagnes are sometimes  made for special occasions and that's an example of it. 
So, here we are. This is the place where I sew... not so bad for a beginner . Now I'm working on some quilt blocks ... I discovered this passion for fabric. I keep on day dreaming about what it could become. Sometimes I have no idea but I keep collecting fabrics.
And that's the view from this room to the backyard ... where I'm trying to grow some aromatic plants ...

Sul nostro albero di plastica (che gira con noi da qualche anno di paese in paese), le decorazioni sono "made in Africa" : zucche (calebasse) svuotate e dipinte a mano e pini rittagliati in aluminio di qualche imballaggio di pulizia dove si può ancora leggere : "Nettoie et fait briller" ...
Abbiamo anche fatto il presepe, con personnaggi da tutte le parti del mondo e dove non manca nemmeno il centurione romano ! (troppo buio per la foto ormai, forse domani ...)

I have a stash of african fabrics that is dying to be shown-off. So, I thought it could be a good idea to frame some pieces of fabric and hang it as we do with paintings. come fare ? how to do ?





This is a collection of very kitsch african wax prints that are used as decoration in a charming old fashion colonial style hotel in Ouagadougou. I think the idea is interesting because you can really enjoy how naif and fun some prints are.
But I will choose for me more colourful prints , some of those with big motifs that you can really miss it if you cut it out  in scraps ... (for my patchwork ) ... what about this one, isn't it fun ? well I don't know if i'll use it for that purpose but I love it !   
Questo si potrebbe chiamare "specchio delle mie brame ..."

 Li abbiamo trovati insieme, tremando sotto la pioggia (in questa stagione piove torrenzialmente) . Adesso bevono latte in polvere importato dalla Francia e sono accarezzati dai bambini. Insomma, un lusso ! Soprattutto quando il guardiano li guarda con appetito , si, perchè i gatti qui si mangiano arrosto...

Gechi e lucertole girano in giardino e dentro casa ... Ma sono utili per combattere le zanzare. Perché qui se non voglio vestirmi invernale, dopo le 18 devo rinchiudermi a casa oppure mettermi uno strato de Autan di 1 cm... Anche se la stagione delle pioggie non é ancora cominciata (il periodo peggiore), le zanzare minacciano la nostra tranquillità ... Cosi mi sono anche abituata all verso gracchiante del geco dentro casa...
